Wiser

Wiser is an Android learning app focused on delivering concise summaries and key ideas from books in text, image, and audio formats. It is intended for readers and listeners who want to explore personal development, education, health, happiness, and mindfulness content in shorter sessions.

What types of content can users explore?

The app includes a library of e-books and audiobooks, with summaries designed to present the central ideas of a title in around 15 minutes. Users can search for books by title or author and browse for another selection that matches their interests. The available subjects include inspirational and educational material as well as books related to self-growth and mindfulness.

How does Wiser support different reading and listening preferences?

Book summaries can be read or listened to, which gives users more than one way to access the material. The reading experience includes adjustable font sizes, color themes, and other personalized settings. Users can also highlight passages, share quotes, and set daily reading or learning goals.

How are recommendations and memory features handled?

Wiser provides recommendations based on a user's stated goals and interests. Its Spaced Repetition feature is designed to support the retention of important concepts by encouraging review over time. The source describes this feature as a way to help with long-term memorization and reduce the time needed to retain key insights.

Can content be accessed without an internet connection?

The app supports downloading books directly to the device for online and offline reading. This can be useful when a user wants to keep selected material available beyond an active connection. Audio summaries also support learning while away from a reading screen, such as during travel or other activities.

Which actions can users take with books?

Alongside reading and listening, users can rate and review books they have read. These options complement the discovery tools, personal recommendations, and goal-setting features by giving users ways to record their engagement with the library.
